Midway's Gravens slugs River States Conference Softball Player of the Week honor
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Midway (Ky.) University catcher Kelsey Gravens hit .538 and clubbed three home runs last week to win River States Conference Softball Player of the Week for March 13-19.
A junior from Mt. Washington, Ky., Gravens hit 7 for 13 in four games last week to lead the Eagles to a 2-2 record. She had three homers among her four extra-base hits and totaled nine RBIs. Gravens' .528 batting average went along with a slugging average of 1.308 for the week.
Gravens homered in three different games and her two multi-hit games were highlighted by going 3 for 4 with a home run versus Hiwassee. For the year, she is hitting .404 with three home runs and 17 RBIs in 14 games.
Midway is 4-10 overall and has its next games March 23 at Brescia for the opening of RSC play.
