IU Southeast's Winchell picks up RSC Men's Tennis Player of the Week honor
FLORENCE, Ky. -- IU Southeast freshman Brock Winchell went a combined 5-1 in his singles and doubles matches last week to earn River States Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for March 20-26.
Winchell played No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles for the Grenadiers, who went 2-1 in three matches on the week. Winchell won 2 of 3 singles matches on the week with victories over Brescia and Marian (Ind.).
He was unbeaten at 3-0 in doubles with victories over Marian (Ind.), Brescia (Ky.) and Georgetown (Ky.). IU Southeast is now 9-4 overall, 1-0 RSC has its next matches March 28 versus No. 6 William Carey and at No. 11 Mobile.
