WVU Tech's Trippett picks up RSC Softball Player of the Week March 20-26

FLORENCE, Ky. -- WVU Tech first baseman Genna Trippett hit .563 and clubbed three home runs in six games last week to pick up River States Conference Softball Player of the Week honors March 20-26.

Trippett, a senior from Parkersburg, W.Va., hit 9 for 16 on the week with a double, three homers and seven RBIs. She had a hit in five of the six games, posted four multi-hit games and also totaled four walks.

WVU Tech went 3-3 on the week, which included 3-1 in RSC games. She had two home runs and four RBIs in the backend of a doubleheader versus CCU to earn a split on the day. She followed that up with three hits, a homer and three RBIs in a doubleheader sweep of Ohio Christian.

For the year, Trippett is hitting .362 with six home runs and nine RBIs in 25 games. WVU Tech (6-21, 3-1 RSC) has its next games at home to IU Southeast on April 1.
