IU East's Venezia nets River States Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week

FLORENCE, Ky. -- IU East freshman Kaylin Venezia won all four of her matches last week to earn River States Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for March 20-26.

The Avon, Ind., native went 2-0 at singles and 2-0 at doubles as the Red Wolves went 2-0 as a team with RSC wins over Ohio Christian and Carlow. It is the first 2-0 league start for the Red Wolves since 2013.

Venezia won at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2, in the match versus Carlow. She also earned a win in No. 1 doubles in that one. The victory over Ohio Christian included wins at No. 2 singles and doubles from Venezia.

IU East is now 11-5 overall with Venezia having a singles record of 9-9 and a doubles record of 12-7 on the year. IU East has its next match March 31 versus Carlow.
