No. 22 IU Southeast's Marmol hits his way to RSC Baseball Player of the Week
FLORENCE, Ky. -- IU Southeast designated hitter Hector Marmol batted .667 from Feb. 27-March 5 to hit his way to River States Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
Marmol, a senior from Copiagua, N.Y., had eight hits in 12 at bats during the four games versus Asbury. Marmol doubled, tripled and homered during the weekend series, which IU Southeast won, 3-1. He collected four RBIs and two walks during the week.
Marmol hit safely in all four games, including a 4-for-4 performance with a home run and three RBIs in game two of the series to sweep the opening day. For the year, he is hitting .455 (15 for 33) with six RBIs.
IU Southeast (7-5, 3-1 RSC) has its next games March 8 at home versus Shawnee State (Ohio).
