Asbury's Turnquest gets RSC Men's Tennis Player of the Week April 3-9
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Asbury (Ky.) University's Joshua Turnquest won two points during a big win of 5-4 over IU Southeast to earn River States Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for April 3-9.
A senior from the Bahamas, Turnquest won at No. 1 singles and at No. 2 double to pick up two key wins during the narrow victory over IU Southeast. The singles win came by 6-2, 6-4, and the doubles win was by 8-6 with teammate Julian Tellez.
Asbury is currently "receiving votes" in the NAIA Men's Tennis Top 25 Poll at 10-1 overall and leading the conference at 2-0 RSC. Individually, Turnqest is 9-1 in singles and 6-2 in doubles this year.
The Eagles put their eight-match winning streak on the line for their next match April 14 at IU East.
