Point Park's Lopez gets RSC Baseball Player of the Week April 3-9
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Point Park (Pa.) University first baseman Emmanuel Lopez hit .500 in six games last week to receive River States Conference Baseball Player of the Week for April 3-9.
A senior from Hormigueros, Puerto Rico, Lopez hit 9 for 18 with two home runs and 11 RBIs in six games. His slugging percentage was .944 with four of his nine hits going for extra bases. He had four multi-hit games among the six on the week.
Lopez went 4 for 6 with two homers and nine RBIs on the second day of the Ohio Christian series to complete the four-game sweep. He then had five more hits in a weekend road trip to play Fisher (Mass.) and College of St. Joseph (Vt.).
For the year, Lopez is hitting .417 with five homers and 42 RBIs in 33 games. Point Park's next games are April 12 at home versus College of St. Joseph (Vt.).
