Point Park's Corcoran claims RSC Softball Player of the Week April 3-9
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Point Park (Pa.) University first baseman Kim Corcoran hit .550 in six games last week to claim River States Conference Softball Player of the Week for April 3-9.
A junior from Cheswick, Pa., Corcoran hit 11 for 20 with three homers and 11 RBIs on the week as Point Park went 6-0. She hit safely in every game, homered in three different games and had a pair of three-hit games. She also tallied three doubles, two walks and scored eight runs.
A highlight was going 5 for 8 with two homers and seven RBIs in a doubleheader sweep of Cincinnati Christian. She was also 3 for 4 with a homer and three RBIs in a game versus Chatham.
Corcoran is hitting .388 with 10 doubles, six home runs and 30 RBIs in 29 games this year. Point Park (17-12, 8-2 RSC) visits Malone April 11 for its next games.
