Point Park's Shields runs to RSC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week again

FLORENCE, Ky. -- Point Park (Pa.) University sophomore Anna Shields has once again won River States Conference Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week with the latest honor for April 3-9.

The native of Torrington, Conn., ran the No. 2-ranked time in the NAIA in both the 800 and 1,500 meters in the same day to win this time. Shields had a time of 2:10.19 in the 800 and a time of 4:25.81 in the 1,500 meters to win both events at the Westminster (Pa.) Invitational.

An NAIA outdoor national qualifier in both event, Shields won the 800 by 12 seconds and the 1,500 by 21 seconds at the meet. Point Park's next competition is April 12 at the Geneva Invitational.
