#RSCBASEBALL Games of the Week: Point Park (16-4 RSC) at Midway (19-5 RSC)

MIDWAY, Ky. -- The top two teams in the current standings square off for the River States Conference Baseball Games of the Week for Week 5 when Point Park (Pa.) University (24-12, 16-4 RSC) visits Midway (Ky.) University (22-17, 19-5 RSC) for doubleheaders April 14-15.

Point Park enters the weekend with the top conference winning percentage in the RSC at 16-4. Midway leads in the league in RSC victories with 19 but trails the Pioneers in the loss column by one game. It is also a matchup of the top hitting team in the conference, Point Park, versus the top pitching team in the league, Midway.

Doubleheaders are scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 12 p.m. from Chandler Park. Midway will provide a video stream via its YouTube channel. Midway's pitching staff has a team ERA of 2.93 and opponents hit just .237 off the Eagles, both tops in the league. Chase Heslep (5-1, 1.87 ERA) and Hector Quinones (4-2, 2.70) lead the staff in innings pitched. Quinones is also the top hitter in the lineup batting .314 with eight home runs and 30 RBIs. The Eagles hit .261 as a team.

Point Park is the top hitting team in the conference batting .337 as a team. That ranks 14th in the NAIA. The Pioneers also lead the conference in defense with a conference-best fielding percentage of .965, a figure that ranks 19th nationally. The Pioneers are third in the league with a team ERA of 3.96.

The Pioneers have Nolan Krivijanski (5-2, 2.27 ERA) and Nick Beardsley (4-0, 0.70 ERA) at the front of the pitching staff, and top hitters are first baseman Emmanuel Lopez (.400, 5 HR, 42 RBIs) and center fielder Stefan Mrkonja (.392, 7 HR, 32 RBIs).
