Asbury's Gibson gets RSC Men's Tennis Player of the Week April 10-16
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Asbury University senior Deuce Gibson won both of his matches in a big conference win to get River States Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for April 10-16.
Gibson, from Villa Hills, Ky., won at No. 5 singles in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0 and at No. 3 doubles, 8-3, as part of an RSC win over IU East. The victory came by score of 9-0 for the Eagles and improved Asbury to 11-1 overall and 3-0 RSC.
For the year, Gibson is 7-3 in singles and 7-4 in doubles. Asbury is receiving votes in the NAIA Men's Tennis Top 25 and has its next match April 18 versus Union.
