UNION, Ky. -- Eight teams descend on Lassing Pointe Golf Course for the River States Conference Women's Golf Tournament on Monday-Tuesday, April 24-25. The championship begins on Monday at 8 a.m. with the first tee times. The tournament champion will earn automatic qualification to the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship May 23-26 at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Midway (Ky.) University is the defending champion of the conference with the team title last spring. The Eagles also won the RSC Women's Golf Fall Preview in October held at Lassing Pointe.

The pairings in the first round have Midway, Asbury and IU East paired together and going off with the first tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. The grouping of Brescia, IU Kokomo and Point Park begin at 8:48 a.m. Carlow and Ohio Christian are paired together with their players starting at 9:28 a.m.

Lassing Pointe Golf Course is Par 71 and measures 5,842 yards from the women's championship tees. The tournament will be 54 holes with 27 on Monday and 27 more holes, including the final round, on Tuesday.

After the tournament, the All-River States Conference Women's Golf First and Second Teams will be named based on combined scores from the championship this spring and the preview last fall. The conference's individual medalist will qualify for the NAIA national tournament in addition to the team champion.

Special awards will be named for River States Conference Women's Golfer of the Year, Coach of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. Also named will be the River States Conference Women's Golf Champions of Character Team
