Rio Grande's Petty claims RSC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

FLORENCE, Ky. -- University of Rio Grande's Tyanna Petty won first place in the 100-meter hurdles this past weekend to claim River States Conference Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for April 17-23.

Petty, a junior from Somerset, Ohio, won the 100 hurdles at the Otterbein Twilight Invitational with a time of 15.21 seconds. That bested a field of 14 competitors.

She was also first in the high jump with a height of 1.70 meters. The next competition for the RedStorm is the RSC Championship April 29 hosted by Point Park.
