Asbury (Ky.) M+W Tennis teams learn draws for NAIA Tennis National Championships

MOBILE, Ala. -- The Asbury (Ky.) University men's and women's tennis teams learned their first-round matchups for the upcoming NAIA Men's & Women's Tennis National Championships being held in Mobile, Alabama May 16-20. The Eagles qualified as River States Conference Tournament champions in men's and women's tennis.
In the men's draw, Asbury garnered the No. 20 seed in the tournament and will meet a familiar foe in the opening round, No. 13 seed Coastal Georgia. Asbury plays Coastal Georgia on May 16 at 8:30 a.m. CT. The Eagles took on Coastal Georgia the last time they qualified for the NAIA National Tournament and narrowly lost 5-4 back in 2015.
In the women's bracket, Asbury was tabbed as the No. 23 seed seed in the tournament. The Eagles will face No. 10 seed Indiana Wesleyan in their opening round match, which is slated for May 16 at 1:30 p.m. CT.
The NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship is a single-elimination tournament that commences with eight first-round matchups on May 16 starting at 8:30 a.m. CDT. The top-eight seeds received a first-round bye and begin action on May 17 at 1 9 a.m. The event concludes on May 20 with the championship match slated for a 9 a.m. start.
The NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship is a single elimination tournament that commences with eight first-round matchups on May 16 starting at 1:30 p.m. CDT. The top-eight seeds receive a first-round bye and begin action on May 17 at 1 p.m. The event concludes on May 20 with the championship match at 1 p.m.
