RSC men's qualifiers set for NAIA Men's Track & Field National Championship

GULF SHORES, Ala. -- The River States Conference has 13 men's track and field student-athletes who qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships being conducted this week at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Ala., May 25-27.

Athletes qualifiy for NAIA outdoor nationals by meeting or exceeding the NAIA's qualifying standards during the season. The NAIA outdoor national meet began on Thursday morning with the men's decathlon at 10 a.m. Thoroughout the day were trials for running events followed by several throwing-event finals to conclude day one of the championship.

Leading the RSC's contingent in Gulf Shores are seven athletes from conference champion University of Rio Grande. Nikola Andjelic leads the RedStorm as the eighth-ranked decathlete in the field.

Point Park University qualified two of the highest-ranked triple jumpers in the nation with Tyler Carter at No. 4 and teammate Jryi Davis at No. 6. Carter tragically passed away earlier in the week, and the RSC sends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, school and team.

WVU Tech has three national qualifiers led by Luke Jobson being ranked fourth in the Race Walk. Indiana East is represented by Seth Reynolds, who is ranked 25th nationally in the 110-meter hurdles.
