RSC captures five NAIA All-Americans at NAIA Men's Track & Field Championships

GULF SHORES, Ala. -- The River States Conference is bringing home five NAIA All-American honors from its 13 men's student-athletes who qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championship held this weekend at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Ala.
Individual qualification to nationals was achieved by reaching the NAIA qualifying standard during regular-season meets. The national championship was conducted May 25-27 with final day and many of the finals on Saturday.
Leading the RSC's NAIA All-Americans was University of Rio Grande's Nikola Andjelic, who placed fourth in the decathlon. He was in the top-eight finishers of all 10 legs of the event including a high of second place in the 110-meter hurdles and third in the pole vault.
The top eight finishers in each event earned NAIA All-American honors. The RSC's other NAIA All-Americans included WVU Tech's Douglas Negrete sixth in the marathon and Luke Jobson fifth in the race walk (23:45), Point Park University's Jryi Davis seventh in the triple jump (14.67 m) and Rio Grande's Clinton Campbell eighth in the 400-meter hurdles (56.47).
WVU Tech shot put qualifier Daniel Lynch just missed NAIA All-American finishing in 10th place. The same was true for Rio Grande's Mike Norris, who finished 10th in the 800 meters.
