IU East's Mejia claims RSC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- IU East freshman Cendy Mejia scored the first goal in women's soccer program history to claim River States Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Aug. 21-27.

The freshman forward from Indianapolis, Ind., scored her team's goal in the first game ever for IU East women's soccer, a 2-1 loss to Indiana Wesleyan. Mejia's tally tied the game at 1-1 in the 11th minute.

IU East returns to play on Sept. 2 at Indiana Tech.
