IU East's Winter tabbed RSC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- IU East freshman goalkeeper Kirsten Winter was in net for the first women's soccer game in school history and was tabbed the River States Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for Aug. 21-27.

Winter, a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., made three saves in the historic game, a 2-1 defeat to Indiana Wesleyan. Winter played all 90 minutes in goal. The Red Wolves return to action Sept. 2 at Indiana Tech.
