Point Park's Taylor wins RSC Volleyball Attacker of the Week
NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- Point Park (Pa.) University junior Ashley Taylor took home MVP honors from the Milligan (Tenn.) College Mountain Madness to win River States Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week for Aug. 21-27.
Taylor, a right-side hitter from Pittsburgh, Pa., totaled 80 kills, 43 digs and 18 blocks in five matches on the week. The Pioneers went 4-0 on the weekend at Milligan with Taylor leading the way. She averaged 3.81 kills and 2.05 digs per set on the week.
Taylor's biggest match was 20 kills, 11 digs and seven blocks in a 3-2 win over (RV) Union (Ky.). She started the weekend with 19 kills each in victories over Milligan and Middle Georgia State, the second of which included 14 digs and three blocks.
Point Park (4-1) returns to the court Sept. 1-2 for the Emileigh Cooper Memorial hosted by Rio Grande.
