River States Conference Commissioner Search Process Now Open

NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- The search for a new River States Conference Commissioner is underway with the first posting of the job announcement here at RiverStatesConference.com. The RSC Executive Committee, which is chaired by IU Southeast Chancellor Dr. Ray Wallace, is seeking applicants now through Nov. 1, 2017.
The River States Conference, formerly known as the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference before a name change effective July 1, 2016, currently has Joe Glover, Athletic Director at RSC member IU Southeast, in place as the RSC Interim Commissioner. He steps in for Scott McClure, who was RSC Commissioner since 2015 before accepting a position elsewhere in the NAIA.

RIVER STATES CONFERENCE COMMISSIONER -- JOB POSTING:
The River States Conference (RSC) is accepting resumes and nominations for the position of Conference Commissioner. The RSC is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and is comprised of 13 institutions in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The conference sponsors championships in the following sports: Baseball, Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Cross Country, Men's and Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Soccer, Softball, Men's and Women's Tennis, Men's and Women's Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field, and Volleyball.
The RSC Commissioner reports directly to the conference's Council of Presidents. The primary responsibility of the Commissioner to serve as the chief administrative officer of the Conference. Details of the responsibilities can be found on the following pages.
Candidates for this position should display strong leadership and motivational qualities with proven oral and written communication skills. Experience in collegiate athletic administration and a thorough working knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations are essential. A bachelor's degree is required and a Master's degree is preferred. The salary for this full-time position is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Preference may be given to candidates who are willing to relocate their primary residences inside the geographic boundaries of the conference membership.
