CCU's Walsman pulls in RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- Cincinnati Christian University forward Blake Walsman had an impressive performance last week to pull in River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 15-21.
Walsman, a 6-8 junior from Batesville, Ind., averaged 24.0 points and 20.0 rebounds in two games last week to pick up the honor. He shot 62 percent from the field (13 for 21) and made 20 of 25 free throws for 80 percent. His week included a 30-point game and two 20-rebound games.
Walsman tallied 32 points, 20 rebounds and four assists in a 102-97 victory over Alice Lloyd. He then put up 16 points, 20 rebounds, two assists and two steals in a loss to No. 3 IU East, 83-70.
Cincinnati Christian is now 9-11 overall, 4-4 RSC and plays at WVU Tech on Thursday for its next game.
