Carlow's Myers leaps to RSC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- Carlow University sophomore Javondi Myers won the high jump at the SPIRE Midwest Open and qualified for NAIA nationals to earn River States Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for Jan. 22-28.
The Columbia, S.C., native hit the NAIA 'A' qualifying standard with his height of 2.01 meters. That won first place at SPIRE and ranks fifth in the NAIA. Myers' leap of 6-foot-7 beat a field that included NCAA Division I and II competitors.
Carlow's next meet is the RSC Indoor Track & Field Championships Feb. 3 at Tiffin University.
