Ohio Christian's Hearn nets RSC MBB Player of the Week Jan. 1-7
NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- Senior point guard Jalen Hearn had a big week for streaking Ohio Christian University and netted River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 1-7.
Hearn, a 6-0 native of Columbus, Ohio, averaged 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game to lead the Trailblazers to a pair of big, conference victories. He shot 50 percent from the field (21 for 42) to bump OCU's win streak to three in a row.
Hearn put up 29 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 79-77 win over (RV) Alice Lloyd (Ky.). He then tallied 23 points, five assist and made 10 of 18 shots in a 91-85 victory over (RV) Asbury.
The pair of wins put OCU (6-10, 2-3 RSC) right back into the playoff picture in the RSC East Division. The Trailblazers have their next game at Carlow on Tuesday night.
