MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- For the third time in a row, No. 5-ranked University of Rio Grande (Ohio) goalkeeper Richard Dearle has been named the River States Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The most-recent honor is for Oct. 8-15.

The junior from Castle Donington, England, added on to his NAIA-leading goals-against average of 0.18 per game. He did so by picking up his ninth shutout of the year, a 3-0, win over (RV) WVU Tech and also beating Shawnee State (Ohio), 12-1.

He made five saves on the week and played all 180 minutes. Dearle has given up just two goals in 11 starts, one of which was on a penalty kick. Rio Grande improved to 13-0 overall, 6-0 RSC and has its next game Oct. 18 at Ohio Christian.
