IU East's Nicholson notches RSC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- IU East goalkeeper Amanda Nicholson posted a shutout in a big conference win to earn River States Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for Oct. 8-15.
A senior from McKinleyville, Calif., she made some big saves to preserve a 2-0 shutout over Ohio Christian to even the Red Wolves' conference record at 2-2 RSC. With an early lead, she made two big saves in the first half to keep IU East in front and march on toward victory. She made three saves in the game in all.
IU East is now 7-3-2 overall and takes a three-game win streak into its next contest at Brescia on Thursday.
