IU Kokomo's Baker nabs another RSC Volleyball Attacker of the Week honor
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- IU Kokomo middle hitter Nyssa Baker made it back-to-back weeks and the fourth time overall as River States Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week as she claimed the award for her play from Oct. 8-15.
Baker, a sophomore from Fort Wayne, Ind., made the all-tournament team at the Indiana Tech Tournament as the Cougars went 4-0 there. They also picked up a conference victory in a 5-0 week overall. Baker totaled 63 kills, 20 blocks and eight aces in the five matches. She averaged 3.00 kills and hit .388 for the week.
Baker reached double digits in kills in four of the matches, including 18 kills and six blocks in a 3-1 win over IU Southeast. Other highlights were 13 kills and three blocks versus Lawrence Tech, 12 kills and six blocks versus Madonna, and 13 kills and three blocks versus Goshen.
IU Kokomo is 23-4, 9-0 RSC and takes its 14-match win streak to its next match Friday at Point Park.
