IU Kokomo's Williams takes home RSC Volleyball Setter of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- IU Kokomo freshman Kendal Williams set up the Cougars for an undefeated week and thus was named the River States Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week for Oct. 8-14.
Williams, a native of Edinburgh, Ind., was a part of a 5-0 showing for the Cougars, and she compiled 117 assists, 38 digs and eight aces on the week. In a 6-2 system, she averaged 5.85 assists per set and 1.90 digs.
A big match was 29 assists, 15 digs and three aces in a win over Lawrence Tech. There were also 27 assists versus Madonna and 22 each versus IU Southeast and Goshen. The Cougars were 1-0 RSC and then went 4-0 at the Indiana Tech Tournament on the week.
IU Kokomo is now 23-4 overall, 9-0 RSC and has won 14 in a row. The Cougars play at Point Park Friday night for their next match.
