Rio Grande (Ohio) remains No. 3, WVU Tech still "receiving votes" in NAIA Top 25 Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll on Oct. 23 continued to have two team representing from the River States Conference with University of Rio Grande (Ohio) remaining at No. 3 in the nation and WVU Tech still under the "receiving votes" category.
Rio Grande (14-0-0, 7-0-0 RSC) is one of just two unbeatens in the country, with the other being No. 1-ranked William Carey (Miss.) (14-0-0). Rio Grande garnered 462 votes and one first-place vote in the poll. William Carey received nine first-place votes, and No. 2 Oklahoma Wesleyan (14-1-0) received eight first-place votes.
WVU Tech (11-1-4, 5-1-1 RSC) receiving 58 votes in the poll and came in just outside the Top 25 at No. 28 overall. The Golden Bears have been receiving votes for much of the year.
Rio Grande leads the NAIA in total goals and assists and also goals and assists per game. Defensively, the RedStorm leads the country in total goals allowed (2) and goals allowed per game (0.14). WVU Tech ranks eighth in the nation with nine shutouts.
