RSC Women's Soccer Championship qualifiers set, seedings TBA next week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The River States Conference Women's Soccer Championship qualifiers have been set. Although the seedings and the opening pairings will not be finalized until this coming week, the six teams that will make up the conference postseason are determined.
The RSC Women's Soccer Championship will be held at campus sites around the conference on Nov. 3, 7 and 10. The quarterfinals begin the championship on Nov. 3. The top two seeds will receive an opening bye and will host semifinal matchups on Nov. 7. The finals are Nov. 10 at the highest remaining seed.
Most of the conference schedule was completed on Saturday, Oct. 27. There is a makeup game Oct. 31 featuring IU East at Asbury (Ky.) University, which will determine the seeding of the playoff bracket.
Point Park (Pa.) University (10-7, 7-2 RSC) currently leads the standings. Asbury (Ky.) (9-7, 6-2 RSC) has a chance to claim the outright No. 1 seed in the championship with a win over IU East. Several other seeding determinations will also follow based on that result.
Other playoff qualifiers are Carlow (Pa.) University (8-7-1, 6-2-1 RSC), IU East (10-4-2, 5-3 RSC), University of Rio Grande (Ohio) (7-8-2, 5-3-1 RSC) and Ohio Christian University (7-6-4, 4-2-3 RSC).
