IU Kokomo's Baker gets another RSC Volleyball Attacker of the Week award
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- IU Kokomo middle hitter Nyssa Baker continued the Cougars on their run and picked up her third River States Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week award of the season, this time for Oct. 1-7.
Baker, a sophomore from Fort Wayne, Ind., collected 35 kills and 10 blocks in three matches to push the Cougars to 3-0 on the week and 2-0 in RSC play. IU Kokomo has now won nine in a row to improve to 18-4, 8-0 RSC. Baker hit .544 and averaged 3.50 kills and 1.00 block per set.
She posted double-digit kills in all three matches, including 12 each in victories over IU Northwest and Asbury (Ky.). She finished up with 11 kills and four more blocks in a victory over Midway.
IU Kokomo plays host to IU Southeast on Tuesday for its next match.
