IU Kokomo clinches RSC title, NAIA national bid, will host RSC Championship Nov. 9-10
KOKOMO, Ind. -- The IU Kokomo volleyball team clinched two more things on Tuesday night with its 3-1 win over Cincinnati Christian. The Cougars guaranteed themselves the RSC Volleybal regular season title and the NAIA National Championship bid that goes with it. That goes along with the RSC West Division title it wrapped up last weekend, which comes with the right to host the RSC Volleyball Championship Nov. 9-10.
The Cougars (29-4, 14-0 RSC) have a 4.0 match lead in the division and a 3.0 match lead in the overall conference standings with two matches to play this weekend. IU Kokomo will be going to its fourth straight NAIA national tournament. The winner of the RSC Championship will also earn automatic qualification to nationals. If IU Kokomo were to win the playoff tournament, the tournament runner up would qualify for NAIAs.
The bracket and pairings for the RSC Volleyball Championship will be announced this weekend with the completion of the regular season. The eight-team tournament will consist of the top four teams from the RSC East and West divisions. The quarterfinals are on Friday, Nov. 9, and the semifinals and finals are set for Saturday, Nov. 10. The time schedule is below with the pairings and seedings TBA.
