MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The 2018 All-River States Conference Men's Soccer Teams & Awards have been selected, and they are announced here at RiverStatesConference.com. The honorees were selected from a vote by the league's 10 men's soccer head coaches.

There are 14 players on the All-RSC First Team and 14 on the All-RSC Second Team. Each team is made up of four forwards, four midfielders, four defenders and two goalkeepers. Also named are the top individual accolades and the RSC Champions of Character Team.

University of Rio Grande (Ohio), the No. 1-ranked team in the NAIA, led the All-RSC selections with six players on the first team and two more on the second team. The RedStorm is 17-0-0 overall and 9-0-0 RSC entering today's RSC Championship final versus (RV) WVU Tech (14-1-4, 7-1-1 RSC). The Golden Bears also totaled eight all-conference selections with three on the first team and a conference-high five on the second team.

Rio Grande swept the individual honors with senior defender Mitchell Osmond claiming RSC Player of the Year and RSC Defender of the Year accolades. The RedStorm also had Nicolas Cam Orellano named RSC Offensive Player of the Year and RSC Newcomer of the Year and head coach Scott Morrissey named RSC Coach of the Year.

Osmond, a center back from Sydney, Australia, leads the point of attack for the RedStorm defense that is tops in the nation. The senior Osmond controls things on the back line for Rio Grande, which has given up just two goals in 17 games on the year for an amazing defensive performance. The RedStorm has 15 shutouts on the season and ranks No. 1 in the country with 0.12 goals allowed per game.

Cam Orellano, a freshman forward from Santiago, Chile, leads the conference and all newcomers on the year with 20 goals and 44 points. He is 10th in the NAIA in total goals and goals per game (1.18) and 13th in points.

Morrissey, who is in his 30th year as RedStorm head coach, has orchestrated another undefeated conference season and has pushed Rio Grande to the No. 1-ranking in the country.

Rio Grande's six players on the All-RSC First Team include Osmond (Sr., D), Cam Orellano (Fr., F), Harry Reilly (Sr., F), Eduardo Zurita (Sr., M), James Williamson (Sr., D) and Richard Dearle (Jr., GK).

WVU Tech's three players placed on the first team include Jesus Naves (Jr., F), Sergio Sanchez (Jr., M) and Eduardo Gutierrez (Jr., D).

Point Park (Pa.) University and Brescia (Ky.) University put two players each on the first team with Point Park's Geert Bijl (So., M) and Lorenzo Diaz (Fr., D) making it along with Brescia's Jean Laurent (Sr., F) and Jacob Stanley (Jr., GK).

There were a total of five schools represented on the first team with Midway (Ky.) University's Callum Kemp (Sr., M) also making the list.

After WVU Tech's five players on the second team, Asbury (Ky.) University was next with four players selected. Rio Grande and IU East had two second-teamers each, and Point Park had one.
