IU Kokomo wins the RSC Championship to claim the conference's first automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship. RSC Championship runner-up Brescia also qualifies for the NAIA National Championship with the conference's second automatic bid since IU Kokomo was also the RSC regular-season champion.

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The 2018 River States Conference Volleyball Championship qualifiers and bracket are set for Nov. 9-10 at IU Kokomo. After the conclusion of the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 3, the eight postseason teams and seeds were finalized.

The top four teams from the RSC East and West Divisions qualified for the playoffs. The quarterfinals will be held on Friday, Nov. 9 with the semifinals and finals on Saturday, Nov. 10. The RSC Championship winner will earn automatic qualification to the NAIA National Championship.

No. 1 overall seed IU Kokomo will host the championship by virtue of winning the RSC West Division, a determination prior to the season. The Cougars (31-4, 16-0 RSC) are also the RSC regular season champions and are already guaranteed a bid to the NAIA national tournament as a result. If IU Kokomo also wins the RSC Championship, the tournament runner-up will qualify for NAIAs.

IU Kokomo, which has won 22 matches in a row, will open the championship on Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. versus University of Rio Grande (9-22, 4-12 RSC), the No. 4 seed from the RSC East. The RedStorm earned its playoff bid with Friday night's victory at Carlow (Pa.).

IU East earned the No. 1 seed from the RSC East after locking up the division title on Saturday. The Red Wolves (23-8, 12-4 RSC) got the division title based on a tiebreaker versus Point Park (Pa.) University by holding a 4-3 advantage in sets won during head-to-head competition this year. IU East takes on Asbury (Ky.) University (19-13, 10-6 RSC), the No. 4 seed from the RSC West, on Nov. 9 at 1:30 p.m.

Point Park (19-11, 12-4 RSC) received the No. 2 seed out of the RSC East and will face IU Southeast (25-7, 11-5 RSC), the No. 3 seed from the RSC West, on Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. IU Southeast beat Asbury on Saturday to stay out of the No. 4 divisional seed but lost out on a tiebreaker for the No. 2 seed to Brescia. The winner will move on to play the winner of IU Kokomo versus Rio Grande.

The last quarterfinal match on Nov. 9 will feature No. 2 seed Brescia (Ky.) University (21-15, 11-5 RSC) from the RSC West versus No. 3 seed WVU Tech (27-9, 10-6 RSC) from the RSC East at 6:30 p.m. Brescia earned the No. 2 seed in the division from a tiebreaker of a 5-4 edge in sets won head to head versus IU Southeast. The winner will play the winner of IU East versus Asbury.
