Asbury (Ky.) traveling to No. 1 seed Spring Arbor (Mich.) for NAIA Opening Round

WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University women's soccer team will travel back to Spring Arbor, Mich. to face the No. 1 seed and defending national champion Spring Arbor University on Saturday in the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship opening round.
The Eagles enter this weekend with an 11-7-1 record on the year, while SAU is 17-1.
Asbury booked its fourth trip in program history to the national tournament, after winning the River States Conference championship for the second year in a row last Saturday against IU East in a shootout.
AU enters the national tournament on a hot streak after finishing their last 10 matches with a record of 8-1-1.
Both teams have a common opponent loss to Marian University. Asbury fell 1-0, while Spring Arbor lost 2-0 in their only loss this year.

Last year, Asbury fell to Spring Arbor 8-0 in the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament.
Historically, the Eagles are 0-5 against the Cougars.
The 15 winners of the opening round matches, along with host University of Mobile, will advance to the national championship final site at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Alabama.
The 16-team, single-elimination tournament takes place Nov. 26 – Dec. 1, with the national championship final scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1.
