RESULTS: Men's 8K I Women's 5K
OWENSBORO, Ky. -- The 2018 River States Conference Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships are set for Saturday, Nov. 3 at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro, Ky. The championship meet is being hosted by Brescia (Ky.) University.
The women's 5,000-meter race will start at 10:15 a.m. Central Time, and the men's 8,000-meter race will start at 11:00 a.m. Central Time. The location of Yellow Creek Park is 5710 KY HWY 144, Owensboro, Ky. 42303.
The RSC men's and women's team champions will automatically qualify for the NAIA Cross Country Championships Nov. 16 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The team runner-up in each race will also qualify for the NAIA national meet if they are in the Top 30 of the final national rankings.
Individual runners will also qualify for the NAIA national meet with the top six finishers not from automatic qualifying team(s) moving on to the national meet as well provided they are in the top 20 finishers of the conference race.
Team scoring for both the men's and women's race will consist of the top five finishers for each team counting for scoring purposes with the sixth and seventh runners being used to displace.
An awards ceremony will be held after the conclusion of both races at approximately 12:15 p.m. CT at Yellow Creek Park. All-RSC First Team honors will be awarded to the top seven finishers in each race, and All-RSC Second Team honors will be for finishers eight through 14. The RSC Runner of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Coach of the Year will be awarded for each gender as well.
