Asbury's Sparks picks up RSC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Asbury (Ky.) University midfielder Elizabeth Sparks scored two goals to lift the Eagles to a high seed and picked up River States Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 29-Nov. 4.
Sparks, a freshman from Mansfield, Ohio, scored two goals in the second half of the Eagles; 3-3 tie versus IU East to end the regular season. That result gave Asbury the No. 2 seed in the RSC Women's Soccer Championship and a first-round bye.
Asbury is 9-7-1 overall, 6-2-1 RSC and plays host to No. 3 seed Carlow in the RSC semifinals on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
