Point Park's Berry wins RSC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year/Week
TIFFIN, Ohio -- Point Park University senior jumper Shaun Berry picked up River States Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year honors at the RSC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday and thus is the RSC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for Feb. 5-11.
Berry, from Pittsburgh, Pa., scored the most points of any field athlete at the indoor conference championships to claim the yearly and weekly honors. He won the long jump with a leap of 6.60 meters, placed second in the triple jump at 14.24 meters and was third in the high jump at 1.85 meters.
Berry's performance helped Point Park to first place in the team standings, and he scored 24 points. The Pioneers are in action again Feb. 17 at the Kent State Tune-up.
