Point Park's Stephens honored with RSC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year/Week

TIFFIN, Ohio -- Point Park University sophomore runner Xavier Stephens won River States Conference Outstanding Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year for his performance at Friday's RSC Indoor Track & Field Championships and is thus also the RSC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for Feb. 5-11.

Stephens, from Uniontown, Pa., won the 800 meters and the mile to pull in 20 points for the Pioneers with individual victories. His 800 time was 1:59, and his mile time was 4:30. He was also a part of Point Park's distance-medley relay that placed fourth. He ran the 1,200 leg to help the Pioneers win four points in the event.

Stephens led the Pioneers to the team championship in the inaugural indoor meet for the RSC. Point Park's next meet is the Kent State Tuneup Feb. 17.
