NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- (RV) IU East senior Tia King scored a combined 74 points in two games last week to pick up River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 5-11. It is the third time this year she has claimed the award.

A 5-9 guard from Indianapolis, Ind., King averaged 37.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 4.5 steals per game as the Red Wolves split two conference games. She shot 20 for 39 from the floor for 51 percent and 29 for 33 from the foul line for 88 percent.

King poured in a school-record 40 points to go along with four rebounds and four steals in an 82-75 loss to No. 21 Rio Grande. She followed that up with 34 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and five steals in an overtime win at WVU Tech. She forced OT with a made basket and pulled IU East to victory with three other starters fouled out.

IU East (19-9, 11-4 RSC) hosts Carlow on Thursday and hosts Ohio Christian on Saturday for its final two games of the regular season.
