Point Park's Shields repeats as RSC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Point Park University junior Anna Shields registered another No. 1 time in the NAIA to pick up River States Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for Feb. 12-18.

Shields, from Torrington, Conn., won the 800 meters at the Kent State Tune Up with a time of 2:07.68, a personal best and now the top time in the country. She won the race by seven seconds and knocked five seconds off her previous best for the indoor 800.

It was also the fourth-fastest 800 time in all of women's collegiate indoor track for the week. Shields now ranks No. 1 in the NAIA in the 600, 800, 1,000 and mile. Next up for her is the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships March 1-3 in Pittsburg, Kan.
