IU East's Campbell repeats as RSC WBB Player of the Week

NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- For the second week in a row and the third time this year, IU East's Mackenzie Campbell is the River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. She continued her tear from Jan. 29-Feb. 4 to win the award once again.

The 5-8 junior guard from Rushville, Ind., averaged 27.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game to power the Red Wolves to a 2-0 week. She shot 68 percent from the field (19 for 28) and 85 percent from the foul line (17 for 20).

Her best game came with a school-record 39 points in a 98-94 win over Point Park. That game included eight rebounds, five assists and four steals and 14-for-20 from the floor and 11-for-12 from the foul line.

IU East pushed its win streak to six in a row with a 58-42 win over Carlow, which featured 16 points from Campbell on 5 of 8 from the field and 6 of 8 from the free-throw line.

IU East, which is 18-8 overall, 10-3 RSC, has a big matchup coming up Tuesday night at home versus No. 21 Rio Grande (24-2, 12-1 RSC).
