No. 22 Point Park's Horew notches RSC Baseball Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- No. 22 Point Park University outfielder Cole Horew had a big week at the plate to notch River States Conference Baseball Player of the Week for March 12-18.
Horew, a sophomore from Pittsburgh, Pa., hit .474 in five games going 9 for 19 with 10 runs, three walks and six RBIs. His week included two doubles, a triple and a home run for an .842 slugging percentage.
Point Park won all five games on the week, and Horew got things started going 4 for 6 with two doubles, a triple and three RBIs in a 10-0 win over Washington & Jefferson. He had a big game of 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs to highlight the weekend series sweep of Cincinnati Christian. He collected five hits and scored seven runs in the series.
Horew's hot bat continued on Monday going 3 for 3 with two home runs in a win over Fisher (Mass). Point Park is 19-2 overall, 9-0 RSC and plays its next games versus Asbury at home this weekend.
