Point Park's Hernandez takes RSC Baseball Player of the Week
NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- Point Park University senior Chris Hernandez hit .524 in seven games on his way to River States Conference Baseball Player of the Week honors for Feb. 26 to March 4.
A catcher from Miami, Fla., Hernandez was 11 for 21 on the week to lead Point Park a 7-0 record. He collected six multi-hit games, scored five runs, drove in four runs and drew three walks. His slugging percentage was .667.
A big game was going 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs versus (RV) Judson. In the three-game sweep of Judson, Hernandez was 7 for 10. He was also 2 for 2 with two runs, a triple and an RBI in a win over Michigan-Dearborn.
Point Park is 10-1 overall and 3-0 RSC and plays its next games March 9-10 at Brescia (Ky.) University.
