(RV) Rio Grande's Criner picks up RSC Softball Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- (RV) University of Rio Grande infielder Michaela Criner had an amazing doubleheader to pick up River States Conference Softball Player of the Week for April 2-8.
In the only games of the week, the sophomore from Bremen, Ohio, was 6 for 8 with three home runs and 10 RBIs. The RedStorm won both games in a doubleheader sweep of Asbury. She was 4 for 5 with four runs, two homers and seven RBIs in the first game and then 2 for 3 with a home run, two runs and three RBIs in the second game.
Criner also walked twice on the day and scored a total of six runs. She hit .750 and slugged 1.875. Rio Grande is 23-10 overall, 10-2 RSC and visits Shawnee State on Wednesday.
