WVU Tech's Gruttadauro takes home RSC Men's Track Athlete of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- WVU Tech race walker A.J. Gruttadauro won first place at the Cumberlands Invite with a stadium record to bring home River States Conference Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors for April 9-15.
The junior from Brockport, N.Y., finished the 5,000-meter race in 21 minutes, 51.52 seconds to win the event. It was also a stadium and meet record, and it beat out the other six competitors. He had claimed those records a year earlier as a sophomore at the Cumberlands meet, but he surpassed those marks this past weekend.
The Golden Bears have their next competition April 21 at the Don Frail Invitational hosted by Marietta.
