Rio Grande's Browning repeats as RSC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- University of Rio Grande senior Katie Browning qualified for the NAIA national championship in the pole vault this past weekend to earn River States Conference Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for April 16-22. It is the second week in a row she has won the award.

The Athens, Ohio, product turned in a height of 3.65 meters in the pole vault to win first place at the Don Frail Invitational hosted by Marietta College. That qualified her for NAIA outdoor nationals with the NAIA 'A' standard. Browning also competed in the long jump and placed third with a leap of 5.23 meters.

Rio Grande will compete next in the River States Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Friday in Pittsburgh, Pa.
