RSC M+W Tennis Championship: April 27-28 at Lindner Tennis Center -- Mason, Ohio

MASON, Ohio -- The 2018 River States Conference Men's & Women's Tennis Championship Tournament is taking place this weekend, Friday-Saturday, April 27-28 at the Lindner Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. Six men's teams and six women's teams are battling it out in single-elimination tournaments.

The RSC team champions will earn automatic qualification to the NAIA Men's & Women's Tennis National Championships May 15-19 in Mobile, Ala. The quarterfinals and semifinals of the conference tournaments will be held on Friday, and the championship finals will be on Saturday.

The Lindner Family Tennis Center is 5460 Courseview Drive, in Mason, Ohio. Fans are asked to park in the East parking lot (which is colored teal) and to enter through the East gate.

RSC MEN'S TENNIS PREVIEW
No. 1 seed Asbury (Ky.) University (13-1) went a perfect 5-0 in the RSC in the regular sesaon and earns a bye in the quarterfinals along with No. 2 seed IU Southeast (8-8, 4-1 RSC).

Asbury awaits the winner of No. 4 Midway (Ky.) University (7-10, 2-3 RSC) versus No. 5 Ohio Christian University (2-14, 1-4 RSC). The Eagles and Trailblazers meet on Friday at 10 a.m.

IU Southeast awaits the winner of No. 3 IU East (8-8, 3-2 RSC) and No. 6 Alice Lloyd (0-7, 0-5 RSC). The Red Wolves and Eagles square off on Friday at 10 a.m.

The men's semifinals will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. with the finals on Saturday at 12 p.m.

RSC WOMEN'S TENNIS PREVIEW
No. 1 seed Asbury (Ky.) University (11-3) leads the draw with a perfect conference record of 8-0 RSC. The Eagles have a quarterfinal bye along with No. 2 seed IU Southeast (10-8, 7-1 RSC).

No. 4 Midway (Ky.) University (12-9, 5-3 RSC) faces No. 5 IU Kokomo and No. 3 IU East (13-6, 6-2 RSC) plays No. 6 Carlow (Pa.) University (3-5, 3-5 RSC) in the two quarterfinal matches to begin the tournament on Friday at 8 a.m.

The Midway-IU Kokomo winner will advance to face No. 1 Asbury, and the IU East-Carlow winner will advance to play No. 2 IU Southeast. Both semifinal matches are at 12 p.m.. The championship final is Saturday at 9 a.m.
