RSC M+W Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet: Friday, April 27 at Pittsburgh, Pa.

PITTSBURGH -- The 2018 River States Conference Men's & Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship are being held Friday, April 27 at the RMU Island Sports Center in Pittsburgh, Pa., and hosted by Point Park University. It is the second year in a row at this facility.

Eight men's teams and eight women's teams will be on hand to compete for the conference outdoor championship. There will be 22 men's events and 22 women's events with the first competitions taking place at 9:30 a.m. with the start of the field events. The track events begin at 11 a.m. The meet will conclude at approximately 6 p.m. with the awards ceremony to follow.

EVENT SCORING: The top six finishers in each event will score points for their team with 10 points for First Place, 8 points for Second Place, 6 points for Third Place, 4 points for Fourth Place, 2 points for Fifth Place and 1 point for Sixth Place. A maximum of three athletes from each team can score points in each event. The men's and women's teams with the most points will be the RSC champions.

ALL-CONFERENCE: The top three finishers in each event will earn All-River States Conference Track & Field honors and receive RSC Track & Field Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, respectively.

AWARDS: Team & Individual Awards will be presented at a ceremony after the completion of the last event at approximately 6 p.m. The team champions and runners up will receive their awards, respectively. Individual awards will be given for RSC Men's & Women's Outstanding Track & Field performers, RSC Men's & Women's Coach of the Year and RSC Men's & Women's Newcomer of the Year. The RSC Champions of Character Teams will also be named.

ADMISSION: General admission price will be $5 at the gate for the all-day pass.
