RSC Women's Tennis Championship Day 1 Recap: Asbury, IU Southeast make finals

MASON, Ohio - Asbury University and Indiana University Southeast will meet in the River States Conference Women's Tennis Championship final match on Saturday, April 28.
The women's championship match will start at 11 a.m. pitting the No. 1 seed Eagles versus the No. 2 seed Grenadiers at the Lindner Family Tennis Center, home of the Western & Southern Open professional tennis tournament. The championship match start time were moved back due to expected cold conditions.
Asbury defeated Midway in the semifinal round, and IU Southeast men eliminated Indiana University East in the semifinal round. Asbury is the defending women's RSC Tennis Tournament champion.
The Asbury women are ranked 36th in the nation and are 12-3 after their semifinal win. The IU Southeast women are 11-8.

Quarterfinals
IU East 5, Carlow 0 -- Results
The IU East women dropped three total games in the five completed matches against Carlow. The Red Wolves swept the doubles matches and got quick singles wins from No. 3 Brooklyn Hubbard and No. 6 Shelby Good.
Midway 5, IU Kokomo 1 -- Results
An 8-5 victory at No. 1 doubles was key as Midway took a 2-1 lead after doubles play. The Eagles then won in straight sets in three of the top four singles spots to clinch the team victory.
Semifinals
Asbury 5, Midway 0 -- Results
Kendall Jablonowski won at No. 3 singles and Jana Schmaenk was victorious at No. 4 to back up an Asbury sweep of the doubles matches.
IU Southeast 5, IU East 1 -- Results
Dana Frank's timely 6-0, 7-6 (4) win at No. 2 singles clinched the match for the Grenadiers. Had Frank not won the second set tiebreaker, IU Southeast would have been forced to win at least one three-set match to clinch the victory.
