MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- (RV) IU Southeast senior Brandon Nylin went all 9.0 innings in a 4-1 win over Midway (Ky.) last week to claim River States Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for April 23-29.

The Hyde Park, N.Y., product limited the Eagles to only four hits and piled up eight strikeouts in the key win. The victory helped the Grenadiers move toward the RSC regular-season championship, which they got the next day on the final day of the regular season.

Nylin allowed just the one run and did not walk a batter in the outing. It came directly after IU Southeast had lost the opening game of the doubleheader, 10-9. But the Grenadiers took the final two games of the series to win the conference.

Coming up next is the RSC Baseball Tournament May 3-6 at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio.
